Katie Holmes Tells Tom Cruise, Get off My Ass

HOLLYWOOD - Katie Holmes has had it up to her cleavage with Tom Cruise' round-the-clock surveillance, strip searches, and smothering presence. Cracking under pressure that would have sent a normal person reaching for a semi-automatic long ago, Ms. Holmes, 28, told the smirking little control freak to "get off my ass." The watched pot boiled over last weekend when Ms. Holmes decided to take in a basketball game at Beverly Hills High School, where Mr. Cruise' adopted son, Connor, is a member of the team. As Mr. Cruise, 44, was busy at the Scientology Centre in Hollywood that night, proctoring sensory depravation training for a class of new recruits, Ms. Holmes decided to attend the game with daughter Suri, her nanny, several personal attendants, and three or four of Mr. Cruise' relatives. Thinking she might enjoy some quality time alone, Ms.

Report: Cruise To Host Gala For 9/11 Detox

(CBS News) NEW YORK Tom Cruise will host a gala fundraiser for a controversial detoxification process aimed at helping 9/11 workers, the New York Post reported Friday. The actor is a co-founder of the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project, which provides those exposed to toxic agents in the rescue and clean-up at the World Trade Center site to a detoxification procedure developed by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology. The regimen treatment, lasting a period of three to four weeks, incorporates vitamin and mineral supplements and cold-pressed oils, as well as aerobic exercise and saunas, rather than traditional medicines. The process, administered by the Foundation for Advancements in Science and Education (a Scientology research group), releases toxins trapped in the fat tissues of subjects.

Incompetent? Who's incompetent?

Do you remember the recent fuss about what will happen to our foreign financial reserves when we join the Eurozone? And what about the relentless charges on cost overruns on the road around St Paul's Bay, the road to Mtarfa, the road to San Lawrenz, the Gozo ferry terminal, the new hospital and on and on?

For the next general election the Labour Party is ramming the message that the current government is incompetent. In contrast, a Labour government will be bursting with talent, with the doctor in business administration at the helm - from Harvard no less. The small library of scientific and technical reports that has been prepared by the nameless experts is testament to the party's collective wisdom.

The past tells a different story. Among other things, the just published Lino Spiteri collection of reminiscences refers to the time when Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici succeeded Dom Mintoff.

Your Views: Earlier thoughts on music downloading

Yes. Clearly the music industry as it has been over the last 80 years or so is history. The rate of decline of record sales and royalties will be exponential. Musicians will need to perform live to make money. That's life.

Reading the various responses on this site is enough to send a chill up anyones spine. I do not think I have ever heard so many different ways of justifying theft.

The Recording Industry is always quick to blame lower CD sales as the result of piracy. They dont seem to consider the possibility that consumers are not interested in the same music year after year. I have not purchased a single CD in a couple of years now. I buy my music (legit) online. I am also more into internet Radio and Indie music as there is a lot of great unknown talent.

'Lost' fans look for clues

It's amazing how seriously some viewers get into their favorite television shows. Take fans of "Lost."

In Wednesday night's episode of the hit ABC series, one scene involved a trap using a gas canister. A close-up of the canister shows its manufacturer's logo and name, ALS Technologies, and if you look really, really closely there's a Web address.

Ptown, Vineyard get "rural aid" from Feds; Scallop-like oyster ...

PROVINCETOWN, Mass. -- In a few weeks, artists, lawyers and bankers will begin arriving here for the busy summer season on high-speed ferries that take 90 minutes to make the trip from Boston. They will land at a recently refurbished municipal dock that was built with the help of a $1.95 million low-interest loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. A few blocks away, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum has used nearly $3 million in grants and loans from the Agriculture Department to add gallery space and renovate a historic sea captain's house. A short drive back down the Cape, the department is financing a new actors theater in Wellfleet and recently awarded a grant to a garden center in Hyannis to build a windmill.Although Cape Cod is only a short trip from Boston and Providence, R.I., and is home to some of the wealthiest beach towns in the United States, to the Agriculture Department it meets the definition of rural America.
